Christopher Long is a small businessman from Vienna, VA who has worked for over thirty years to shape public policy that supports innovation, economic growth, security and a better quality of life for society. A focus has been on the modernization of government IT infrastructures to deliver new, better, and more efficient services for a more citizen-centric government. Another has been supporting the homeland and national security missions.
Over his career, Mr. Long has founded several organizations to support good policy and facilitate industry-government collaboration, including his firm, Washington Resource Associates, the Digital Dialogue Forum, the Homeland Security Dialogue Forum, and the non-profit think tank, Center for Public Policy Innovation. Mr. Long serves as the CEO and President of both Washington Resource Associates and the Center for Public Policy Innovation.
These industry-government partnerships afford Mr. Long a strong platform to promote ideas about entrepreneurism and innovation, economic growth and jobs creation, national and homeland security, and government IT modernization. He has also been a leader in shaping tax policy and promoting financial empowerment.
In 2021, Mr. Long was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Innovation Partnership Authority (VIPA), the state authority charged with supporting the growth of Virginia’s innovation and entrepreneurial sectors, and enhancing Virginia’s technology based economic development.
Mr. Long has worked with community based organizations across the country for more than 20 years to promote financial literacy and financial empowerment, support small businesses, and expand free tax assistance to the underserved.
Christopher Long graduated from the University of Vermont in 1986 with B.A. degrees in Economics and Political Science.
