Randolph Dove retired from HP as head of government relations for the Americas which included all Washington-based policy and political issues.
He started his career as a special assistant and press secretary to U.S. Senator Charles McC. Mathias, Jr. (R-Maryland). In addition to press relations, Dove handled technology, government, military and economic development issues.
Following his almost 13 years in the Senate, he joined EDS (acquired by HP in 2008) in 1988 as manager of media relations for federal government business. From there, Dove became manager of public relations for EDS Washington, manager of corporate communications for the public sector business and East Coast director of public relations. He later joined the EDS Office of Government Affairs as Director of Congressional Relations.
After the acquisition, he served a number of roles in the Hewlett-Packard Office of Government Relations until the company split into HP and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. He then was appointed to Americas position.
In addition to serving on the CPPI Board, Dove is also a member of the board of the Public Relations Society of America, Chesapeake Chapter. He is also active with the Center for Experience and Opportunity at McDaniel College where he provides career advice to undergraduates, mentoring, scholarship review and preparation for the workforce.
During his career in Washington, Dove was president of the Canadian-American Business Council as well as a board member of the Congressional Management Foundation, the commercial sector board of the Information Technology Association of America and the advisory committee of the Coalition of Service Industries. Dove is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. He is also a member of the Advisory Council to the Congressional Internet Caucus, the Online Privacy Association, the National Press Club and the National Foreign Trade Council’s Doha Board. He has been a lecturer on media relations and crisis communications.
Dove holds a B.A. degree in political science from McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) and has attended the London Business School where he studied corporate strategy. He lives near Fenwick Island, Delaware.
